Little Moons gelato – The Mochi Makers

We recently stumbled across Little Moons mochi ice cream, a brand that makes ice cream bites with a twist.

Mochi, for many of us not in the know, is a Japanese sweetened rice flour dough.  Every bite of smooth and creamy gelato is encased in this traditional dough that has been steamed and pounded to give it a uniquely light, yet chewy texture that contrasts the delightful ice cream filling.

Each bite is gluten free with no artificial flavourings, colours or preserves and suitable for vegetarians with a few flavours extending to offer vegan properties.

There are 12 delicious flavours to choose from, including Himalayan Salted Caramel, Vegan Belgian Chocolate, Creamy Coconut, Alphonso Mango, Uji Matcha Green Tea, Summer Strawberries and Cream, Madagascan Vanilla, Honey Roasted Pistachio, Vegan Tropical Passionfruit and Mango, Yuzu Lemon, Summer Raspberry and Italian Roasted Hazelnut.  Packed full of flavour, they are ideally portioned, with less than 100 calories per bite, for a cool treat for kids (and adults!) and the dough case means they can be easily eaten by hand or using cutlery without too much mess.

Little Moon ice cream bites are available in packs of six priced £4.99. They can be purchased from leading supermarkets and Little Moon pop-up shops in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush and Selfridges London. For more information, visit
