It’s been a long time in the making, but the new land, Tornado Springs, launched this season at Paulton’s Park.
Paulton’s Park, in our opinion is one of the best theme parks in the UK and it seems we are not alone as families vote it the best theme park in the country on Tripadvisor too!
Best known for Peppa Pig World, in the past few years they have heavily invested in expanding the park with a range of themed new areas and rides to boot which is now attracting families with children of all ages from near and far.
Initially drawn in several years ago by the hook of Peppa and George, we have since returned regularly with delight at all the new additional areas that make it a truly fab family day out.
Tornado Spring opened this year following a £12 million investment. The new area, themed on a Midwestern mining town, includes eight new rides and experiences. Our favourite, and one for the full family to enjoy, is the Storm Chaser. A unique rotating rollercoaster that spins 360 degrees, it benefits from high climbs and thrilling tracks.
One for the thrill-seekers, the Cyclonatoris a Gyro Swing spinning pendulum ride, carrying 30 people at a time and rising to around 25 metres. It’s not for the feint-hearted but does get my award for best ride of the park as of this visit. It pushes the boundaries of a swing with a spinning motion that adds to the exhilaration.
For those that like to keep their feet a little closer to the ground, Al’s Auto Academy is a cute driving school for kids (and parents) to hop on board and navigate their way round the track in American cars.
In addition, the new themed world of Tornado Springs feature’s Al’s Shop and Service, where guests can purchase their very own driving licence and exclusive Tornado Springs mementos for the merch you need as a reminder of your fab day; and Route 83 Diner, a 50’s themed family restaurant.
We also have to give a shout out to the Lost Kingdom, another fantastic part of the park with a pre-historic theme that includes a range of rollercoasters and smaller rides.
Whether you’re after big thrills, animal encounters or fun in the sun in the sprawling splash pad, Paulton’s Park continues to invest heavily to retain its top spot. The thoughtful extras – park benches a plenty, beautiful gardens and toilet trainer seats as standard – make it a pleasant day out that caters to everyone young and old.
