Exciting news – one of our faves, Nuna, has launched the brand new NEXT system. We hear you asking, ‘what is NEXT?’ so let’s shed some light – NEXT is a Nuna’s innovative car seat base system that worksalongside not one, two or even three, but four of the brand’s popular car seats.
Compatible car seats – NEW CARI next, a carrycot seat; TODL next Group, 0+1 chair; ARRA next lie flat seat; and PIPA next infant car chair – fit neatly onto the base, providing a lot more flexibility for parents that want to develop their parenting journey with the brand as their child grows and moves through the car seat stages from baby to toddler.
The BASE next system affixes to your vehicle utilising several safety settings for maximum security. With an impressive 13 ISOFIX positions (working with your vehicle’s settings) it is easy to install and provides a high level of confidence thanks to true lock installation tech. Making it foolproof, yes we said it, colour indicators provide a reassuring nod to the correct installation for both the base and added car seat.
The base is also made from resilient, shock-absorbing plastics to reduce force and keep babies safe for added protection.
Handily, the base can fully rotate a full360-degrees, which makes dropping in the car seat so much easier as you navigate unusual angles with an additional load. It also provides additional options for rearward and forward facing options once your child is large enough to face both ways.
One of the biggest benefits of the NEXT system is the longevity of the system enabling parents to choose between Nuna’s several car seats while using the same base. This cost efficiency is also a great coup for parents starting out.
We tested it out with the beautiful TODL next. What we love about this car seat is that it takes babies from birth up to around 18.5kg (approx. 4 years). Offering up five recline positions and a shoulder harness that expands simultaneously with each of the six headrest positions, the TODL next adjusts easily to support baby’s key stages of growth.
The attractive TODL next is a considerate chair that includes nifty features in excess of even the basics. With everything from removable infant head and body inserts made from the softest Merino wool and patented Tailor tech™ memory foam, to EPP energy-absorbing foam and a no-rethread five-point harness.
