Warwick Castle has captured the magic of the festive season with a daily spectacular now on throughout the Christmas season.
An evening visit to Warwick Castle, located in the heart of the Midlands, now features a special lineup amidst the medieval backdrop of the 12th century castle.
Transformed into a magical winter wonderland, the castle hosts a miniature German market with lots of food and drink options before families can head out to the striking light trail, Stories with Santa and ice skating for a jam-packed evening of fun.
Light Trail
The Light Trail is one of the best we have seen! Spread across 64 acres, it is a walk throughout the castle’s manicured grounds featuring light tunnels, a special royal tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth and dancing lights. Set to beautiful music, the walk is absolutely stunning with several seated areas along the route for visitors to sit and take in the attraction. One of the highlights is a special projected film featuring an artistic dancing light show to music.
Every evening the trail will be ‘opened’ by a special guest, from local children to NHS workers.
Stories with Santa
Stories with Santa is a great addition to the evening with a short walk inside the castle’s Great Hall where you can marvel at the exquisite Christmas trees and magnificent light displays before being greeted by the excitable elves for fun and games.
You’re then led to the Library where Mrs Claus and Santa await (they are both excellent!) to talk to the children before being gifted a very special Warwick Castle present and opportunity to capture a photo keepsake.
Ice-Skating
Top the night off with a visit to the ice rink. 45 minutes of fun aplenty under the majestic Guy’s Tower. If you’re struggling to stay upright, there are lots of penguin and whale aids so everyone can take part.
Santa Sleepovers
And if that’s not enough, or you’re just keen to extend the fun, on select winter dates up to the end of the year, you can make memories with a Santa Sleepover at Warwick Castle. You’ll find festive flourishes in the cosy Knight’s Village, including themed evening entertainment. In the morning, wake up to the sound of sleigh bells with your very own elf wake-up call where Santa’s cheerful elves will bring a present for little ones. Santa Sleepover packages also include Stories with Santa tickets. Santa Sleepovers start from £269 based on two adults and two children, staying in a Woodland Lodge, and includes entry to the castle for two days.
Day tickets cost from £20 per person when booked in advance. A day ticket to include Stories with Santa costs from £31. A 45-minute ice skating slot on the open-air ice rink costs from £15.50, while the after dark illuminated light trail starts from £15.50. Castle entry and the light trail is from £25.50, and castle entry and skating is from £25.50.To book, visit www.warwick-castle.com/explore/events/christmas/
