Festive Afternoon Tea

Nestled discreetly in a cosy enclave, the St Ermins Hotel, located in the heart of Westminster, joyfully heralds the return of its opulent Festive Afternoon Tea, the timeless tradition that has undergone a yuletide transformation.

Served in the hotel’s stunning tea lounge, overlooking the festive lobby, it is adorned with intricate original Rococo plaster work and some stunning Christmas embellishments for the season. The space is a beautiful escape from the busy city allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the magic that is Christmas within the city.

Embracing the essence of a quintessential afternoon tea experience, visitors are invited to peruse an extensive tea menu with offerings for all preferred tastes. The team guide you through the array of options; generously offering samples and scents to assist in making an informed choice tailored to your preferences.

Drawing inspiration from the medley of seasonal ingredients harvested right from the hotel’s rooftop kitchen garden, the new Festive Afternoon Tea menu is a celebration of flavours. Sink your teeth into warm, freshly baked scones alongside an array of beautifully presented seasonal sweet treats.

And while we’re on the subject of desserts, we can easily get carried away thinking back to the irresistibly delectable mini-Christmas cakes, the perfect harmony of chestnut and cranberry macarons, the indulgent bite of chocolate and cherry snowballs, and let’s not forget our personal favourite, the divine vanilla pannacotta adorned with a luscious crown of pomegranate jelly. It tastes as good as it sounds!

Yet, the essence of afternoon tea truly comes alive in the form of the delectable finger sandwiches, and the festive transformation adds a touch of Christmassy magic to the afternoon tea. At the forefront of this yuletide symphony is the smoked turkey and cranberry offering, a true crowd-pleaser. Equally delightful is the rich gin-smoked salmon with lemon crème fraîche. The selection is artfully completed with a beef pastrami and sauerkraut combination, as well as a lighter option featuring creamy brie and zesty red peppers.

For younger guests, St. Ermins has created a tower of family-friendly sandwiches. Paired with this scrumptious ensemble are treats that include a luscious honey cake, a tempting chocolate mousse box, and a delightful strawberry tart. Gold coins and candy canes add a real fun factor to this afternoon tea. Children have the choice of selecting from a variety of teas or treating themselves to a juice or the indulgence of a special hot chocolate. It’s a genuine treat designed especially for the little ones, ensuring a magical experience for the whole family to enjoy together.

The Christmas Afternoon Tea costs £45 per person or £52 per person with a glass of Champagne. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are also available. A children’s Afternoon Tea is available from £24 per child.
