Let’s be honest, change bags have come a long way from the oversized, plastic totes of years past. For parents constantly on the go, that want something practical and stylish, Kapten & Son have a range of great backpack-style change bags.
Kapten & Son is an established German brand famed for its minimalism and purposeful products for the modern consumer. We recently got our hands on the beautiful Lindy Diaper Backpack, a sleek, versatile solution that balances style, practicality, and premium craftsmanship all in one.

The first thing you notice about the Lindy is how un-change-bag it looks! With its minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired design, soft vegan tech material, and neutral tones, it could easily pass for a high-end everyday backpack. Parents often fall into two camps – those who fully embrace every aspect of their new role, proudly leaning into all things baby-related – and those who prefer not to lose sight of their own identity and personal style, opting for sleek, understated practicality over bold prints or cartoon-themed accessories. And for parents who don’t want to compromise on personal style, this bag is a clear winner.
Looks aside, the Lindy is built for the realities of parenting. The backpack has a generous main compartment that easily fits nappies, a change of clothes, muslins, snacks, and even a tablet or small laptop. The wide-opening top zipper makes it easy to access everything without a frantic dig at the bottom.
It also includes a padded changing mat; three internal elasticated pockets – ideal for nappies, wipes, or bottles; an insulated bottle holder to keep milk warm or water cool and a waterproof zippered pouch for soiled clothes or those unplanned messy situations!
On the outside, there’s two side pockets for bottles or your own water bottle, and a front zip compartment for quick-grab essentials like your phone, keys, or travel card. Everything has its place which makes it really handy for getting set with all the baby essentials you usually need to carry with you.
The backpack style is very comfortable. The padded shoulder straps and back panel make it easy to wear for long stretches without digging into your shoulders or feeling bulky. And despite having so many different elements, it’s also lightweight and sits nicely against your back rather than pulling away from it.
And it’s not worth investing in something if it loses its appeal pretty quick. Fortunately, it wipes clean easily, and is fairly resistant to light rain, spills, and stains.
To date, it is one of our favourite change bags we have come across, great quality, style and practicality, and the nice thing is that it can absolutely be used as a backpack once the baby change days have passed.
The Lindy Diaper Backpack Set is priced £149.80 in a range of colourways from www.kapten-son.com
