Medela launch new Mini Pump

Breastfeeding experts, Medela, has unveiled its latest innovation for mums on the go with the launch of the new Freestyle Mini™ Hands-Free Double Electric Breast Pump, its smallest and lightest wearable pump to date.

Designed with modern motherhood in mind, the real selling point of this pump is its flexibility. In a move that many brands are taking, and Medela has already successfully navigated, the pump is compact and lightweight while retaining all its key technology enabling mums to express milk comfortably while on the go or just keeping their hands free for everything else life throws at them.

Perfect for use at home, at work or while out and about, the Freestyle Mini™ Hands-Free has been created with convenience at the forefront. The compact motor is actually small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and can easily be slipped into a pocket or worn using the included lanyard and clip, giving mums the freedom but also the discrepancy to pump as and when needed.

The new collection cups weigh just 76g each, some of the lightest available on the market. The cups consist of just three easy-to-clean parts, all of which are dishwasher safe, helping to save valuable time during daily routines.

Medela’s Marketing Manager, Charlotte Price, commented: “We are thrilled to launch a new wave of Freestyle pumps, now in the Mini design, making pumping on the go even easier! The Freestyle is an iconic Medela pump which is loved by so many mums, so to bring out a new updated version for 2026 with the benefit of a Mini motor, is so exciting!”

Despite its small size, the Freestyle Mini™ still provides a powerful and efficient milk expression. Like all Medela breast pumps, it features the brand’s unique 2-Phase Expression® technology, developed to mimic a baby’s natural sucking rhythm. This helps support quicker let-down and more effective pumping sessions, allowing mums to make the most of every expression.

The built-in rechargeable battery offers up to 1.5 hours of use, approximately six pumping sessions, so usually enough to last a full day.

Available in both a double and single hands-free option, as well as a Freestyle Mini™ Classic version, the latest addition to the Medela range is a great addition to the collection in a move that I think we’ll see more in the future.

The Medela Freestyle Mini is available now priced £159 from Medela
