The Truehart Hotel

With a brand new direct route from London Heathrow to Austin, Texas with Virgin Atlantic, it’s a fantastic opportunity to explore the Lone Star State.  Offering something a little different to the coastal states, Texas boats year-round sunshine, fantastic food and a western culture unique to the US.

Nestled in the heart of Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg is a captivating town that beckons travellers with its rich history, picturesque landscapes, and warm Southern hospitality. Known for its German heritage, flourishing vineyards, and quaint Main Street, this idyllic Texan gem offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The Truehart Hotel in Fredericksburg is a wonderful find that offers visitors a unique and charming place to stay. The hotel is housed in several historic buildings, known as Sunday Houses, that have been beautifully renovated featuring modern amenities while still maintaining their vintage charm.

The bedrooms’ contemporary design seamlessly harmonises with its rustic charm, creating an ambiance that is both inviting and indulgent.

Our room, Meadowlark, featured unique artwork amidst a warming green backdrop. Equipped with modern conveniences, including high-speed WiFi and state-of-the-art flat-screen TVs, the room effortlessly blends practicality with an uncompromising sense of luxury.

And don’t get us started on the bathrooms – almost on par size wise with the bedroom, it was an oasis of elegance. From sleek marble countertops to vintage fixtures to luxurious bath products, every element exudes a sense of refined comfort. The spacious walk-in showers and deep soaking free-standing tub provided the perfect setting to soak away the stresses of everyday life, enveloped in an ambiance of tranquillity.

Outside, each room has rocking chairs and table for you to take in the beautiful surroundings that felt a million miles away from a town centre.  Early morning jetlag meant we caught a doe bouncing across the property one dawn, but the evenings in front of the open fire pit were more social with guests coming together over a glass of local Texan wine.

The hotel’s central location in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg makes it an ideal base for exploring the town. Guests can easily walk to local shops, restaurants, and attractions, with Main Street just one block away and the National Museum of the Pacific War and the 290 Wine Trail slightly further afield.

Prices start at $225 per night. For more information and to book this charming boutique hotel, visit
