Lap of Lights Returns

It’s December and as the countdown to the big day ticks on, Silverstone is already shimmering with festive anticipation. In just over a week, the iconic circuit is preparing to launch its most ambitious winter calendar yet. Tickets for its headline attraction, Lap of Lights, starts on 12 December running to 3 January 2026, and tickets are selling at record speed, with weekend slots close to selling out.

Having visited Silverstone countless times for race weekends, we thought we knew every twist and straight by heart. But seeing the home of British motorsport reimagined as a sprawling winter wonderland? That’s something entirely different!

This year, Silverstone isn’t just putting on an event; it’s transforming into the ultimate festive day out. Scheduled to feature high-energy activities to family-friendly magic, the site is packed with attractions that run from morning through night.

One of our highlights, the Ice Trak rink returns (from £8.45pp), once again transforming the legendary F1 garages into a sparkling ice arena. Motor enthusiasts can also dive into the world-class Silverstone Museum, which brings the history of motorsport roaring to life.

But the standout newcomer is Santa’s Garage in partnership with LEGO® (from £18pp, with adults and under-twos going free). Designed with younger guests in mind, the interactive experience features an exclusive LEGO® F1 car and trophy, real F1 machines from teams like Red Bull and Haas, and of course, Santa himself assisted by a team of “elf technicians” busily prepping his high-octane sleigh.

The main event, Lap of Lights, promises an unforgettable drive around the historic Grand Prix circuit. Visitors follow in the tyre tracks of racing legends, cruising through 10 immersive light attractions, a symphony of 35 lasers, and more than 7,000 LED panels illuminating the track. Families can pile into a single car for one price as well, meaning the more, the merrier.

Across the site, visitors can refuel with festive favourites picking up some German bratwurst, mince pies, hot chocolate, mulled wine and more festive favourites. A curated selection of official Silverstone merchandise will also be available to pick up any extra gifts for motorsport fans of all ages.
