Ergobaby Omni Deluxe

As a mum of two, one toddler, one newborn, I’ve quickly learned that the right baby carrier isn’t just helpful, it’s essential. Over the years, I’ve tried my fair share. Some were beautiful but impractical, others functional but bulky or uncomfortable. So, when I got the chance to try the Ergobaby Omni Deluxe All-in-One Baby Carrier, I was curious… and maybe a little sceptical. Could one carrier really tick all the boxes?

From the very first use, the Omni Deluxe felt like it was designed by someone who has actually navigated the chaos of parenting in real life. It’s smart, intuitive, and, most importantly, comfortable. Fortunately, you don’t need a YouTube tutorial to figure out how to wear it. The strap indicators are subtle but brilliant; they take the guesswork out of adjusting for different caregivers. My partner and I are very different builds, yet switching between us takes seconds, not a complicated readjustment.

The fit and comfort are worth highlighting. With its padded lumbar support and extra-cushioned crossable shoulder straps, you can easily wear baby for long stretches, from quick errands to nap walks, without that familiar ache in the shoulders and lower back. Even with a toddler (weighing in at 15kg), the weight feels evenly distributed. There’s a noticeable difference in how supported you feel compared to other carriers

However, the comfort isn’t all about the adult, it has to work two ways! And fortunately, it did – the deep bucket seat and ergonomic design holds baby in a hip-safe position, whether they’re facing inward, outward, or on the back. It’s suitable from birth through toddlerhood (up to 20kg), and it adapts through all stages with no insert required, no fiddly adjustments every few months. Just smooth transitions as they grow.

The Omni Deluxe also offers multiple carry positions – front-inward, front-outward, hip, and back. This flexibility is key when you’re juggling two kids – sometimes I want that chest-to-chest cuddle for our newborn; other times I need our toddler up and out of trouble, on my back during park trips or while making dinner.

And onto one of our favourite topics at IF – storage! There are an impressive six thoughtfully placed pockets that make a huge difference. For small items such as dummies, keys, a muslin, snacks, even my phone can be toted in the pockets reducing the need to tote along a change bag.

Other features we really liked with this carrier included a tuck-away hood that shields baby from sun and wind, or just offers privacy during naps or feeds and the covered buttons and tidy loops that give the carrier a cleaner, more stylish finish. It feels like there’s been more focus on the aesthetic with some subtle touches such as the sleek reflectivity on the front logo, just a small but reassuring touch when out walking at dusk.

Having tested several Ergobaby carriers in the past, it’s evident that they haven’t cut corners. From the smart user-led features to the lifetime guarantee, this is a product built to last, to evolve with your family, and to make life just that bit easier every single day.

The Omni Deluxe All-in-one Carrier is available in three machine-washable fabric choices in a range of colours and prints – breathable SoftFlex Mesh, buttery soft SoftTouch Cotton, and durable SoftWeave Linen. The carrier is priced £204.90 from www.ergobaby.co.uk
